Year @ a Glance

That's a Wrap - 2013 was a crazy eventful whirl-wind of a year!
Waffles and I moved to NYC, said goodbye to my awesome Arizona closet and fell in love with a tiny train style apartment in the west village.

I had way too much shake shack, treated myself to broadway, saw She & Him live in Central Park and soaked up some sun at Soho House. I traveled coney island, dumbo and even East Hamptons ... where I snuck onto a private beach (shhh, don't tell!)

I fell in love with an orange dress from crew cuts (don't judge me), picnicked in the park and wore white after labor day, gasp!

I started mixing metals (what) toned down my arm party (double what) and revived my love for vintage with a few great finds with an amazing coach bag and authentic army jacket. After dreaming of lemon and lobster dresses (on two separate occasions) and spending an entire season searching, I found the perfect printed dress!

I turned 23 and fell in love with vinyl records ... and Waffie quit drinking. #sixmonthssober

I attended blogger events and was introduced to a revolutionary new company/concept: Stylinity, and met my styling icon: Stacy London!
My boyfriend, Paris came to NYC, my bestie and I had fort night and we all played board games in bryant parkWe camped out and got to see Katy Perry and Bruce Willis live at SNL and I exposed my true Arizona roots when I had to hunt for a warm fall coat.

I chopped off all my hair and became a strawberry blonde! I had my first "friends-giving" in the city and sat front row at the Macy's Parade!

I warmed up at my favorite west village tea spot: Tea and Sympathy and gave a literal twist to an Ugly sweater party. Plus, we wore parkas in the park for Waffie's first snow (well, slush) day!

We celebrated Christmas in the City, added some seasonal sparkle to the apartment and stayed at the Hyatt Union Square. We window shopped the holiday displays on 5th ave and even went green with holiday e-cards!

What would a year be without fashion! Check out my 3 favorite outfits of 2013
Throughout the year I had the honor of working for Kate Spade, Jonathan Alder and Tommy Hilfiger in various roles, plus I styled Katie Holmes, Emmy Rossum and Emma Kenney and launched Paper Doll Styling. There were lots of ups and downs this year but I learned a lot and feel that I found my true identity in both style and life this year. I'm ready and eager to step into next year and cannot wait to see what challenges it will bring... Cheers to 2014!

Color Me Christmas

Seasons greetings!
With Christmas around the corner, I wanted to share some of my colorful and diy holiday decor in my NYC apartment.
Holidays can get expensive, so I was determined to have a frugal festive season, and that included the decor. I bought a little tree for only $12 at Duane Reade (Walgreens) stacked it on coffee table books for extra height! I love over-the-top wrapping and big bows, but didn't want to waste the dough on something that would just get thrown away, so I utilized my hair bows, scarfs, belts and pins in association with some great vintage bow finds to embellish the presents! I also created a advent calendar with candy and suggestions on how to add color to the holiday season, such as "treat yourself to tea" ... which I did! After a few lights, and a pinch of glitter, all that was left was to put a bow on it; I added bows to my dinning chairs, candy canisters and even my wall to finalize the festive feel.

Now that you have seen the merry make-over, check out my apartment 6-6, to see the rest of my NYC apartment without the festive feel.
Waffles and I hope your holidays are merry and bright, I'll be taking the next few days off for some time festive fun, but will get back to blogging towards the end of the week. Until then, stay fabulous!
