It's no secret that I'm obsessed with Carrie Bradshaw - she will always be one of my favorite TV fashionistas (along with Blair Waldorf). Carrie changed fashion for everyone and I look to her style almost everyday for inspiration. Every time I twirl through NYC in tulle I think of CB! Today was no different, so I had to share this very, Carrie moment filled with stripes, tulle and of course, stilettos.

Weekend Twirl
It's no secret I love twirl-worthy tulle (don't believe me, check out the highlights here), and since this season calls for tartans & flannel, I paired plaid with my favorite skirt for tulle with a twist.

Shirt: Old Navy (obsessed with this one) // Snood: Michael Kors (Old, Similar: one, two [cashmere on sale, yes please!], and three) // Sweater: : Forever 21 // Pumps: Coach // Bag: Vintage via the Melrose District in AZ (Love this one) // Sunnies: Karen Walker (also here) // Skirt: H&M (old, love this one) // Headband: Vintage, similar // Ring: Betsey Johnson (old, similar here) // Jewels: J.crew, Kate Spade
Confession: I'm addicted to teen TV; The Vampire Diaries, Awkward, Teen Wolf ... I don't care how awful & cheesy it may be, you name it I watch it! So although I love December I hate saying goodbye to my embarrassing bunch of shows during the holiday hiatus. To fill the void, I end up re-watching some of my cancelled favorites all month long, and December 2013 was all about GG ... resulting in a re-ignited obsession with Blair Waldorf & her signature headbands!
P.S. I love that the west village is still
dripping in holiday decor (notice the tree behind me?).
I don't wish we kept it up all year long - then it wouldn't be special,
but I like to keep a little bit of cheer until mid January!

Times Square Tulle
Happy December! On a windy day, why not wear tea length tulle? Well there's quiet a few reasons why not, and the number one is to avoid a mid-day Marilyn Moment.
Jacket: Nordies (love this one) // Skirt: H&M (get the look here, here or black here) // Sweater: DIY (Look for the tutorial, I'll post it on Friday or shop here) // Sunnies: Karen Walker (also here) // Boots: Bacio 61 (Also here) // Bag: Coach (similar) // Jewels: Kate Spade Necklace (love this "chic" one) // J.crew // C.wonder (Sample sale find) // pearls
I had a meeting one windy afternoon in Times Square, so I took a second to enjoy one of the town's top tourist spots! Tulle skirts always make me feel like Carrie Bradshaw or a ballerina, but today I paired my tulle with a girlie sweatshirt (I'll share the DIY tutorial this friday) and my go-to boots to dress it down! I dare you to dress outside the lines this month and try tulle with tights & a sweater!

tinkerbella
for this look, all you need is faith, trust and a little pixie dust... oh, and a sprinkle of kate spade whimsy && a dash of j.crew amazing-ness doesn't hurt either.
