This summer sped by quicker than the last (they seem to go faster every year) but that is nothing to be sad about. I am welcoming Fall with open arms, but have to say goodbye to Summer in style… triangl swimwear style.

Park Avenue Skate
So last weekend, I went roller skating … down Park Avenue! The fact that I was able to do so without breaking a bone or (more impressively) without hurting my pride was pretty astonishing, and to top things off, Paris was able to capture the whole thing on camera... well this is going to be entertaining...

Zoo Day
This post is jam-packed so let me apologize in advance.
TGIF right?! Last weekend blew by, and some how this week was one of the slowest ones ever? I woke up on Tuesday thinking it was Thursday, even told a co worker "hang in there tomorrow's Friday, and they gave me the craziest look.. oops! Then woke up again on Wednesday convinced it was Thursday. Anyways back to last weekend, Saturday was busy busy but started with a Zoo day with one of my favorite people (and her awesome husband) Taylor Morgan!

Bright Striped
So I know I declared this the summer of all white, but that doesn't mean I'm giving up my go-to black and white stripes for the season! So when the opportunity presented itself to combine color with my favorite pattern, I simply could resist.
I saw this skirt at Asos and knew I immediately fell in love with the combination of color and pattern play, but was hesitant about the silhouette. I am usually a fit and flare or full skirt kind of gal and rarely ever slip into a tight, pencil-like skirt, but made an exception for this striped beaut.

Macarons & Mimosas
This weekend I decided to host a little blogger gathering for some NYC gals ! It was a great chance for me to meet some of my favorites that I stalk from afar (creepy) and to catch up with some of my blogger bffs while stuffing our faces!
I honestly had far too many macarons, I am only slightly ashamed (and strangley proud) to say my count hit the double digits. Macarons are such perfect dessert because they aren't too too sweet and are perfectly portioned so you can stuff your face without feeling too guilty.

Lemon Drop
I've been keeping it rather casual for the weekend lately, and this weekend was no exception! Waffles and I wandered about wearing my sum mer go-to's while, running errands, testing out my new bucket bag and stopping to play with other Frenchies. The West Village is crawling with these little bug eyed monsters and Waffles is loving it, a little baby french even moved in across the street… named Mr. Smith - too cute!

Sporty styles are here to stay! I've packed my stilettos away in my kitchen - yes, I keep my shoes in the kitchen… I order take out like its my job so I had to fill my empty kitchen cabinets with something - and started stepping into crazy-cool slides!

French Kissing in the USA
It appears I'm a bit culturally confused:
Parisian hat, Union Jack and very american ripped jeans… oh my!
Spoiler alert - I may or may not also through up a super awesome peace sign (asian tourist style) at the bottom of the post…. please try to contain your excitement.

Spring Picnic
The weather has been up and down lately, mother nature just doesn't want to commit to Spring! Anyways a few weeks ago we had our first warm weekend, so a few friends and I celebrated with a picnic in central park! Sorry for this delayed post, I had some computer issues, and thought these pictures were lost but the good old apple genius bar (and my boyfriend Paris) came to the rescue, so today I'm presenting the first picnic of the season… eek!
What's a Picnic without Levain…

MinkPink x Christina Perri
Last week I was lucky enough to attend Atlantic Record's private party and mini concert in celebration of singer, songwriter and overall superstar Christina Perri and her new album Heart or Head!
I'll be honest, mainstream music has never really been my thing. I mean, my morning commute couldn't be made possible without Burno Marz, I dance alone in my room to One Direction almost daily and cure shopping coma's by laying on the floor listening to Amy Winehouse on vinyl... but everything else on my playlists is from at least 10 years ago. I basically jam to what pandora spits out (which is usually pretty amazing, thanks Pandora) and concerts we're never really my thing.... well that all changed when I saw MinkPink's new Brand Ambassador belt her lungs out ten feet in front of me. Christina Perri changed the game when I heard her play at Bar Nana in Meatpacking, and converted me into an instant fan, All hail Christina Perri!

Mwah!
Happy Friday All! Last week some of my favorite gal pals were in town (more on that later) so we had to venture over to Shake Shack at Madison Square Park for a quick bite. As you may know, I'm 95% gluten free but had to make an exception for one of my touristy treats!
Big thx to Sarah for snapping these, I love being part of your journey as you discover in photography.

Fur: Michael Kors (similar) // Sweater: Khols, believe it or not (LOVE this one) // Dress (under): Forever 21 // Bag: Kate Spade (old, obsessed with this one, and this one on sale!) // Hat: Marc by Marc Jacobs // Coat: Zara - on sale // Sneaker Wedge: Sam Edelman (also here) // Sunnies: Karen Walker (also here) // Rings: H&M // Necklace: Marc by Marc Jacobs // Bracelets: Taylor Morgan // Lip: Mac, Ruby Woo
A rep lip has become my go-to accessory, and part of my signature look. So when I found this sweatshirt ages ago at Khols of all places, I knew it had to be mine! Since, it's become one of my favorite casual day sweaters, that I pull on when I need a bit of a fashion facelift. Every gal needs a piece like that, something that's comfortable and easy for lazy days but still makes you feel good when you pull it on! What's yours?
Cheers to the freakin' weekend!
I hope yours is nothing short of fabulous!
Exciting things have been happening in Courtney land,
and I've been working like a crazy lady. But starting next week I'll
actually have days off again (yay!!!). I'm looking forward to stopping to
smell the roses and filling my sundays with brunch,
museum hopping, some serious thrifting and adding to my record
collection. And I can't wait to share what's been happening in my world as
things begin to slow down. Stay Tuned!

Color Me Christmas
Seasons greetings!
With Christmas around the corner, I wanted to share some of my colorful and diy holiday decor in my NYC apartment.

Holidays can get expensive, so I was determined to have a frugal festive season, and that included the decor. I bought a little tree for only $12 at Duane Reade (Walgreens) stacked it on coffee table books for extra height! I love over-the-top wrapping and big bows, but didn't want to waste the dough on something that would just get thrown away, so I utilized my hair bows, scarfs, belts and pins in association with some great vintage bow finds to embellish the presents! I also created a advent calendar with candy and suggestions on how to add color to the holiday season, such as "treat yourself to tea" ... which I did! After a few lights, and a pinch of glitter, all that was left was to put a bow on it; I added bows to my dinning chairs, candy canisters and even my wall to finalize the festive feel.
Now that you have seen the merry make-over, check out my apartment 6-6, to see the rest of my NYC apartment without the festive feel.
Waffles and I hope your holidays are merry and bright, I'll be taking the next few days off for some time festive fun, but will get back to blogging towards the end of the week. Until then, stay fabulous!
