I wore this look last night, when I stepped out to BucketFeet's pop up shop in Soho. BucketFeet is a super cool, unique show concept - all the shoes are playfully patterned and designed by different artists, each with their own unique style. Mine are designed by Miami based artist, Bad Panda, who drew inspiration from his home town to create my kicks.

Little Boy Blue

I've been borrowing from the boys more than I would care to admit lately. This act of rebellion is a bit out of character for me, seeing as I've been twirling since age two - well despite my tragic tom-boy phase, read all about my youthful lapse of judgement here. So for today's inspiration, I paired boyish charm with menswear silhouette and the essence of Queen B (Blaire Waldorf) for a classic look that straddles gender lines.
Booties: C.wonder (similar here or splurge on these) // Skort: Zara (similar under $25) // Top&Bow: Asos (similar top here or just the bow here) Bag: Coach (with silver hardware here) // Coat: Zara // Sunnies: Karen Walker (similar here) // Lips: Ruby Woo by Mac // Rings: H&M
I don't know what I did before the Zara skort. I thought this obsession would die when summer ended, but I have just found myself wearing it more and more... and more. It's the middle of February, yet I still wore my white one over black tights this weekend.... what's wrong with me? The only reasonable explanation is love, I am head-over-heels for the sassy skort - in black, white or blue. But since I was sick of feeling sporty, (my boyfriend does a cheer & makes fun of me when I wear it) I married my skirt-obsession with tailored pieces and a tuxedo vest to dress it up! What do you think, menswear-chic?

Be Mine
Love is in the air! And although I've been spending this week with my first love, fashion (sorry Paris), I haven't forgotten about friday!
Dress: Zara (Obsessed with this one) // Clutch: moschino (similar here, here or here + 25% off) // Booties: C.wonder // Sunnies: Karen Walker // Turtleneck: Forever 21 // Coat: Zara // Bracelet: C.wonder (similar here or here +25% off) // Lips: Ruby Woo by Mac // Rings: H&M // Vintage: lipstick ring (love this broach here)
I love pink & red all year but it's especially fitting for valentines day! What are you doing to celebrate this weekend? anything fun? I've never been very V-Day obsessed - I always preferred a slasher movie to a romantic dinner - but it doesn't hurt to dress the part! Plus, I sent out fun valentines this year to all my friends back home, tune in tomorrow when I share it on the blog!

Stripes & Snow
Well, I'm not in Arizona anymore! New york has turned into Snow York with all the Polar Vortex nonsense.... and I'm actually loving it!

Skort: zara (similar on sale!) // Hat: Marc by Marc Jacobs // Scarf: Gap // Bag: Coach // Coat: Zara // Sunnies: Karen Walker (also here) // Rings: H&M // Tiffany's // Lips: Wet & Wild // Necklace: Marc by Marc Jacobs
Girls Weekend! These pictures were taken on a special day, because some of my favorite gal pals were in town! The two on either side of me have been my best friends since basically birth (okay, more like age 10 ... but still) and since one served on a mission for a year and a half and the other performs on a cruise, this was the first time the three of us were together since May 2011! Crazy! As always, the weekend went by too fast, I miss the ladies more than anything.

Until Next Time, Bundle Up Butter Cups!

Mwah!
Happy Friday All! Last week some of my favorite gal pals were in town (more on that later) so we had to venture over to Shake Shack at Madison Square Park for a quick bite. As you may know, I'm 95% gluten free but had to make an exception for one of my touristy treats!
Big thx to Sarah for snapping these, I love being part of your journey as you discover in photography.

Fur: Michael Kors (similar) // Sweater: Khols, believe it or not (LOVE this one) // Dress (under): Forever 21 // Bag: Kate Spade (old, obsessed with this one, and this one on sale!) // Hat: Marc by Marc Jacobs // Coat: Zara - on sale // Sneaker Wedge: Sam Edelman (also here) // Sunnies: Karen Walker (also here) // Rings: H&M // Necklace: Marc by Marc Jacobs // Bracelets: Taylor Morgan // Lip: Mac, Ruby Woo
A rep lip has become my go-to accessory, and part of my signature look. So when I found this sweatshirt ages ago at Khols of all places, I knew it had to be mine! Since, it's become one of my favorite casual day sweaters, that I pull on when I need a bit of a fashion facelift. Every gal needs a piece like that, something that's comfortable and easy for lazy days but still makes you feel good when you pull it on! What's yours?
Cheers to the freakin' weekend!
I hope yours is nothing short of fabulous!
Exciting things have been happening in Courtney land,
and I've been working like a crazy lady. But starting next week I'll
actually have days off again (yay!!!). I'm looking forward to stopping to
smell the roses and filling my sundays with brunch,
museum hopping, some serious thrifting and adding to my record
collection. And I can't wait to share what's been happening in my world as
things begin to slow down. Stay Tuned!

Stripe X Stripe
What to wear with a striped sweater? more stripes of course! Pattern mixing has crept its way into main stream style, and pairing petals with polka dots is starting to become the norm. But normal is boring, so I decided to step out with stripes on stripes for pattern pairing with a twist!

Jacket: Forever 21 (similar here or here ... LOVE this navy one) // Sweater: Tommy Hilfiger (sample sale find) (similar here) // Skirt: Modcloth (similar) // Bag: Coach // Snood: Michael Kors (Old, Similar: one, two [cashmere on sale, yes please!], three) // Socks: J.crew // Belk: Saks via My Sisters Closet // Sunnies: Karen Walker (also here) // Boots: (similar)
I snagged this sweater for next to nothing at the Tommy Hilfiger sample sale while I was working there in Production last year! It's such a fun twist on a classic that I knew I would be able to wear it for years! Plus, you can't help but smile in an all-american brand!
Since I chopped off all my hair & went strawberry blonde (read all about it) I haven't been able to rock my usual topknot, until now! I have started using a curly pony and a few pins to simulate a faux-knot. Some of my strands are too short to stay up so I just let them hang free. It's still a work in progress, I feel a little like Mugatu (Will Farrell in Zoolander), but it's growing on me. Maybe once I've mastered it, I'll post a tutorial for all the short-haired readers.
